Homecoming Advice on Asking a Girl?

Is it totally lame to ask a girl to homecoming to over instant messaging or email? We are good friends already. We are both learning and are pretty good at Spanish so my idea is to ask her to help me translate a sentence in Spanish, é©´Haga usted el favor de va al baile del regreso al hogar conmigo?, is what I have for the question so far. 1. Is that the best way to ask her in Spanish? 2. Should I use ';usted'; even though we are good friends? 3. Is it ok to ask her over IM or email? 4. Is my idea a good one? 5. Any other advice?Homecoming Advice on Asking a Girl?

1. Im in Spanish II and i think its fine to use that sentence

2. Usted, yes because it is kinda a formal thing u are asking her to Homecoming here u wouldn't use Tu

3.i shoot down your idea of asking over txt or IM .etc because its kinda lame no one want to be asked to go to homecoming over a txt it needs the Personal touch

4. I think its a great idea, i would've never thought of that

5. Flowers couldn't hurt!!!!
yes, it is completley stupid to ask over IM or email. trust me that would be the worst move of your life

i think the spanish idea is okay, and she definatley would be suprised when she realized what the sentence said, but she might not be all that impressed. be a tad more creative =]
ok.. just a thought.

i've always though it would be adorable if somebody got on the school announcements and asked the girl.

one other thing... my best guy friend wrote the question on the board for his gf, so when the teacher pulled up the screen that was in front of it during class his gf saw the question
I love your idea. Write it down and give it to her in person. And ask if she can help you translate that.
