Help Kitten advice needed! Boy or girl?!?

I have a 20 week old boy kitten and I'm going to get a 8 week old girl to keep him company as we are at work all day, and he needs a playmate. Will this be a problem when in he or she comes into season. Will they try and mate with each other?

Oh and do brother and sister cats try and mate each other?

thanks for all replies!Help Kitten advice needed! Boy or girl?!?
get your male neutered this week.....every cat is different so just introduce them slowly. if your female kitten gets to be 4 months and neither one have them have been fixed, PLEASE KEEP THEM SEPARATED. They will try to mate with eachother.Help Kitten advice needed! Boy or girl?!?
I see many, many kittens in your future.

Oh - you added more info!

You should be fine. 10 weeks is too young for her to get ';with kitten';. So if you're right about her age, and really getting the boy fixed soon - you'll be OK. Female cats come to age as young as 4 months old, but 8-10 months is more common.

Male/female companions tend to get along a bit better than same sex do. The boys may fight a lot. But its really shouldn't be a big issue as they're both still young.
yes they will!
If you have them when they are both young they should get along well. And when they do come into season, yes they will try to mate- no escaping that.

and yes brothers and sisters cats do try to mate with each other.

ever thought of neutering? its good for a male cat. they dont go far if they get out, and they dont be come agressive when its that season. and its a easier procedure to do on males rather than females. Our male cat is neutered and hes very sweet, doesn't get lost or tear things up. (we had to get him neutered bc we got him from the animal shelter)
You want genderless cats ASAP. Then they won't care if they are the brother or the sister, and there won't be any of those sibling battles!
If you spay and neuter it shouldn't be a problem. I have 2 cats, male and female, but they're both fixed so I don't have any problems with them. It doesn't matter if they're brother/sister, regardless... If you have a female/male combo and don't spay/neuter you will have more kittens on your hands when they're mature and more likely to have cats marking their territory in your house (both male and females can mark their territory). There are low cost clinics in a lot of areas to have this done if money is an issue, if you contact your local shelter they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Oh yeah, Even real blood same litter ';brother and sister'; cats will mate each other.

and why havent you fixed the male cat yet? It is old enough? Or has he not started to spray everything down yet? Just wait, get a new kitten and your entire home will be sprayed!!!
get your both your cats spade, as he will start to mate with the female, and spray around everywhere as he will already think of the home as his territory, Cats don't always get on so keep an eye on your new one for a few days, so that if there is a problem your there to remove one into another room. Good luck
How can a 20 week old kitten and a 8 week old kitten be brother and sister, or is that what you meant? The daddy played the field or what? Different mothers? They don't care if it's their own mother, they will do it when it's time. So yes, get ready unless you do the surgery.
yes and yes
Yes, they will mate if she comes into season. Yes, brothers and sisters will mate. Your male cat may also begin to spray (urinate) to mark his territory (your house) when she comes into season. It's safe to neuter male cats between 4-6 months of age. To avoid complication and kittens altogether, I recommend having him neutered now, then having her spayed when she's older.
