Alright so I'm 16, a sophomore, and she's a Junior. I'm pretty sure she digs me, I might ask her out, but what about the grade difference? I know people in my grade who are in ';inter-grade'; relationships, but the guy is usually older. The age difference isn't so much as it is the grade difference. Any advice on how to handle this difference appropriately?
*oh would this be cool or what:
She's in the softball team, i'm on the baseball team. I'm planning on putting my phone# on a softball and giving it to her if the setting is right. Ladies would this be too ';corny';? Or is it appropriately ';corny';?Advice on dating a girl one grade older than me please!?
I saw some commercial where this young kid walks up to a girl a few grades older, walks right through her friends and hands her his number and says ';call me';. That's pretty awesome, but maybe not realistic. Try to do something like that, be confident and let her know you like her and want to be friends with her. ';Be friends'; is something you say at first, which will throw her off (cause that's what girls say when they meet a guy: 'friends first'), then when you start to talk and hang out with her, put on the charm and act like you are the same age. Don't be wishy washy, take control and make decisions, be funny and just listen to her when she talks. When she sees a guy who is confident and not afraid to go for what he wants (her), you will be in. If she doesn't like it, she's not right for you. Move on to a girl that gets excited by your efforts.
A prop like the baseball thing isn't necessary, but it's cute. I wouldn't do anything like that with a girl unless she already knew me, cause if she didn't might seem creepy. Just your positive, confident attitude alone should be enough.
I see a few comments about her ';going away to college'; but this has nothing to do with that. You are not trying to get married here! You don't realize it yet, but this is a rehearsal for the future, so when you actually do meet the girl of your dreams, you know what to do. Get out there and go after the girl you like, and learn what it is that works or doesn't work with dating.Advice on dating a girl one grade older than me please!?
I personally always say the same things to out-of-grade relationships; what happens when one of you graduates first? If she goes to college, it's a whole new experience to her. Her lifestyles may change in the flash of a light, and everything you used to know and love about her may disappear. Just remember that.
And I think your softball idea is pretty smart, probably the most original thing I've heard all day.
That is a very cute way to get her attention. Speaking as a girl, girls love that. Trust me.
I don't see how one grade in high school makes a huge difference, except that she's probably got a more rigorous academic schedule if she's going to college. As long as you can respect that, and be nice to her friends, you should be fine.
Good luck!
dont let the grade thing bother you. its not a big deal at all. just dont mention it or bring it up. and if she does just shrug it off.
as for the softball gig i couldn't tell you because i don't know your relationship with this girl but you might be better off saying to her lets hangout sometime and then getting her number
I wouldn't worry about it too much. you are putting too much thought in to it. one year difference in any way is not a big deal. it especially doesn't matter all that much when you get in to college. I would go for it and do what you are doing
Very corny.
Try asking her if she'd like to go to the batting cages.
It might also help humbling yourself and telling her you need her help to break out of a batting slump you're in.
lol kinda corny but idk it might work! just talk to her and see if shes into you =P
oh gosh COR-NY!
Ok so imma 16 year old girl but my boyfriend is almost 15 but still in 8th grade. He missed the age limit by a ciuple months when he was little to start going to school. Anyways he's like a tear and half younger than me but I'm totally and completely in love with him. And just cuz he's younger doesn't mean he doesn't have stuff that older guys have. Believe me he's got it all. Personality,, looks,, sports,, and more but yea that doesn't matter. If you like her go for it cuz you never know... It might work
